Can We Eat Meat and Save the Planet?
9.05am - Dr. Rowan Eisner will facilitate this discussion
- People often advocate vegetarianism because of our environmental problems, but is that really necessary?
- What really are the problems with livestock production?
- What are the different ways meat is produced and how do they compare? How much difference can we make if we did it better?
In this session we'll discuss the scope of the problem and potential for improvement and some of the approaches which are being tried. How could life on Earth look in a future with 10 billion people?
