Brisbane Stoics October 2025 Meetup: On Marcus Aurelius and his Legacy
This month, special guest Judith Stove will be presenting on Marcus Aurelius and his legacy.
Judith Stove is a former teacher of Classics and herself an aspiring Stoic. She is co-organizer of Stoicon-X events in Australia, and the author of the book Marcus Aurelius and his Legacy: Seeking Rome’s Kingdom of Gold.
This is a meetup for people who are interested in applying stoic principles to their lives or would like to find out more about Stoicism.
The principles within Stoicism are, perhaps,most relevant today and have a practical sets of principles for a good life.
- 9am - The venue is the small building adjacent to New Farm library. It has a small kitchen and there is nearby free parking and close to public transport. Feel free to bring a friend.
- 11am (Optional) - Drink and eat with the group at nearby MK Cafe after meetup.

Fortnightly Weekend Walk @ New Farm Riverwalk - Story Bridge

Join us for a brisk walk and exercise from New Farm park along the Riverwalk to Story Bridge and back. Feel free to bring a friend.
We start walk from New Farm library to end of Merthry road then along New Farm Riverwalk. Arrive at Talon Brewing Co, then walk up the steps beside the elevator to the outdoor fitness equipment then back to New Farm. Route is 3.5km (View map below)

New Farm Park, 1005 Brunswick St, New Farm, QLD, 4005, AUJoin us playing the beautiful game in beautitful New Farm park on Saturday 9.30am. Feel free to bring a friend.
Low intensity Coed Soccer (mixed) for men and women of any age, ability or fitness level.
10 minute - Stretching + Warmup doing Rondo drills (piggy in the middle). Uneven teams try to retain possesion of the ball within a small square.
50 minute - Small sided game of on a small field with small green goals, and boundary markers. We will play small sided variations if under 10 players.
(Optional) Coffee and conversation at MK Cafe after the meetup.
Venue is New Farm park. Meetup at the front of New Farm United clubhouse (photo below). Look for the green goals and the host (Steve) wearing a brown baseball cap and white shirt .
