Ever wondered what it takes to simulate a massive choreographed water fountain - before it even exists?

In this month's talk, Iskandar (Iska) Safarov will dive into the engineering behind a realtime GPU renderer built for large-scale programmable water fountains. Born from a real-world project — a monumental museum complex under construction in Tashkent — the challenge was clear: design and preview an entire choreographed fountain show without a single drop of real water.

The solution? A deterministic simulation and rendering pipeline running in realtime on Apple GPUs. We'll walk through the architecture, the tradeoffs, and the techniques that make it all work — across both modern and not-so-modern hardware.

Whether you're into graphics programming, Metal, or just love a good engineering story, this one's for you.
