Brisbane Writing club (gathering interest)

This is a relaxed, no-pressure writing meetup for anyone who enjoys putting words on the page — whether you’re working on a novel, short stories, poetry, non-fiction, or just trying to build a writing habit.

The idea is simple, get together, write alongside other people, and make some progress. There’s no obligation to share your work or critiques – for now, this is just a supportive space to focus, think, and create. Conversation is welcome, but the priority is giving ourselves the time and headspace to write. I would like to do a format of 25 minutes of writing, followed by a 15 minute break to refresh, grab a drink and chat, followed by another 25 minutes of writing. Rinse and repeat. I feel that this is would be a great way to balance it out. If it doesn’t work for you, we can work together to build a format that all members can enjoy.

This group is open to writers of all levels. Whether you’re deep into a project or just starting out, you’re welcome.

Location:
The location will be decided once a few members have shown interest — I’m keen to make it accessible and comfortable, and open to suggestions (cafés, bars, libraries, quiet public spaces, etc.).
