Governing the Algorithm: Design’s Role in the Age of AI Twins, Truth & Trust

Details

AI is no longer on the horizon—it’s in our inboxes, our interfaces, and our everyday decisions. But who’s designing the systems that are increasingly deciding for us?
Join IxDA Brisbane on June 5th for a bold panel discussion that dives into the messy, ethical, and deeply human questions emerging at the intersection of AI, design, and society. We’ll unpack:

  • Why bias, transparency, and trust are design problems, not just technical ones
  • How the data you choose shapes reality—and who gets included or excluded
  • What happens when your AI “twin” works the hours you can't
  • The rise of predictive modelling, digital selves, and how to govern the tools governing us
  • Practical ways designers can embed guardrails, ethical frameworks, and inclusive thinking into AI-powered experiences

Facilitated by: Johanna Bullin & Chris Hayward, this will be an evening of honest provocation, rich discussion, and a few mind-bending hypotheticals.

Let’s challenge the black box. Let’s design for accountability.
We look forward to seeing you there.
Panelists; Dr Lena Belin (Good Design Ambassador & CX Leader), Bruce Muirhead (CEO Mindhive) & Thomas Allsop (CE0 Peakcare)

✨ Plus, we'll be sharing some exciting news about the future of IXDA Brisbane—be the first to hear what's next for our community!

Doors open at 5pm with networking until 5.30pm followed by the panel and audience Q&A. Drinks afterwards at Sound Garden for those that want to continue the conversation.
