GAME ON BrisJS!!! Canvas, Phaser, JS13K, Emscripten, Knot.JS & CBS

Details
Hi JS enthusiasts!
Kevin here, telling you to come and see us if you like Games or frameworks (or even if you don't!) - we have lots to interest you this month!
2D Canvas Basics & JS13K Game comp (Glen Arrowsmith (https://github.com/garrows))
Glen has offered to teach us the basics of drawing on a 2D canvas with a games focus. No libraries just the raw API. He's also here to let us know about the JS13K game comp (js13Kgames.com).
Making games with Phaser (Pablo Farias Navarro (https://github.com/fariazz))
Pablo is here to give a talk on the Phaser JavaScript libraries. He'll be showing some examples and explaining the basics of the framework like sprites, states, arcade physics and collision detection,... and also talk about how to build them as hybrid apps using the Intel XDK. He also just happens to be one of the Judges for the JS13k comp!
Emscripten (Louis Stowasser (https://github.com/louisstow))
Louis has been porting an old school 3D game with emscripten and will explain the journey and the multitude of issues along the way.
Knot.js and Cascade Binding Sheets (Sheng Zhao (https://github.com/alexzhaosheng))
Sheng created an open source MVVM framework "knot.js (http://www.knotjs.com/)" which introduces a brand new idea named "CBS" (Cascading Binding Sheets) to increase the experience of front-end development. We'll see how CBS works, and the pros/cons, as well as implementation of knot.js.
Plus the usual intermission networking opportunity with drinks and pizza.
As usual this is only possible with the support of our sponsors:
We have Auto & General (http://autogeneral.com.au/) supplying the great Meeting Room space (along with AV facilities!), IIX (http://iixpeering.net/)sponsoring kookaburra cafe pizzas (and hiring!), and JScrambler (https://jscrambler.com/en) who are also giving our members the opportunity to win free licences of their JS tool suite! Details and stickers at the event.
Please check out ALL our kind sponsors and understand how great they have been to help our local JavaScript community.
Please get in touch for presenting interesting or insightful discoveries in the rapidly developing frontend or backend javascript world.
Also check our Github issues page for upcoming topics or make requests. https://github.com/BrisJS/meetups/issues
