Webpack, D3 charts, GIF parsing and the Slackbot-powered radio

Details
Hi all, welcome back to the first BrisJS talks of the year.
This month:
Webpack - Josh Girvin (https://twitter.com/girvo)
As requested by the community, Josh will be talking to us about Webpack (https://webpack.github.io/), and what it can do. “There's a tonne of cool stuff to talk about with Webpack: Babel, Purescript, Sass/Less workflows, hell I even wrote a Lisp loader for it!”
If you have any requests, you can leave a comment on the GitHub issue (https://github.com/BrisJS/meetups/issues/104).
XKCD style movie narrative charts using d3.js - Simon Elvery (https://twitter.com/drzax)
Simon is one of two developers in the ABC's interactive storytelling team and has graciously agreed to talk to us about his recent Star Wars narrative charts (http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-12-16/star-wars-every-scene/7013826). Inspired by the XKCD charts of the same style (https://xkcd.com/657/), Simon's devised a system to automatically build charts using D3 and should make for some pretty interesting viewing.
Slackbot-powered internet radio from a Raspberry Pi with Node - Tom Newby (https://twitter.com/tomnewbyau)
Tom's been working on a few interesting projects of late, one of which is a Slack (https://slack.com/)bot-powered internet radio to play TripleJ (http://triplej.abc.net.au) from a Raspberry Pi running Node. In this talk we'll hear about how it works as well as how to set up your own cool Internet-enabled thing.
Ruffle + GIF parsing in JS - Matt Way (https://twitter.com/_MattWay)
“I'll be introducing Ruffle, a new (ionic/cordova) app for sending anonymous picture messages to anyone. Specifically, we invented a new way of revealing images to users, which meant we had to build a File & GIF parser in js.”
Dinner, drinks & sponsors
If the talks weren't enough, we'll also have the usual intermission networking opportunity with beer, pizza, and soft drinks.
Pizza is provided by IIX Australia (http://www.iix.net/), and the great venue still provided by Auto & General (http://www.autogeneral.com.au/).
