☮️ Achieving Inner Peace (with Javascript) - Adam A (Github: adam-pccw) - 25min
This talk is a tour of all the ways to write production-ready JS in the most minimalist and stress-free way possible, eliminating many of the frustrations JS developers routinely deal with.
If you ever feel annoyed or tired starting new projects or dealing with the fast-paced JS ecosystem, this talk provides an alternative route that focuses on developer happiness and maximal code longevity. This is especially helpful for those with low working memory or with many personal projects to maintain.
⏱ Intermission - Pizza and Drinks networking!
🧩 How TypeScript allows us to effectively leverage our development team - Ian Walters (LinkedIn: ian-walters-67034b25) - 25min
Ian believes TypeScript (TS) is one of the few software languages that allow for development in almost any context. While overall an excellent tool for devs, this enables his team to have one software language across their entire product and as a consequence, better use the dev resources in the team by reducing knowledge silos & increasing their ability to shift focus where needed.
In this talk, Ian will highlight what TS brings to his team's product, across multiple very interesting areas and domains across the stack.
For each area, covering how TS is applies and why it's well suited. Ian discusses how this is all brought together as a project and why modern cloud arch is an ideal target for TS dev.
The talk will also reference some tech and approaches they don't yet use but still feel are worth considering.
📖 What I've been up to (2023 version!) - Benjamin Lupton (Github: balupton) - 25min
Back in our neighbourhood thanks to CampJS; Benjamin is here to present his recap of significant work since his talk by the same name all the way back in 2015! He graces us with a demo of Dorothy - dotfiles for automated devops, a demo of Boundation, and extracts from his CampJS talk on Auto-publish JavaScript/TypeScript/Node.js/Deno packages. With his trademark blend of technology and philosophy, this is a highlight to close our night!
⏱ Closing - Safe trip home folks!
