βοΈ Web3: Not Just Crypto - David Pitman (GH: drpitman76) - 25min
A deep dive into the burgeoning web3 wild west arena full of decentralisation, autonomous services, unstoppable apps ... and lots of JavaScript! While the most recognisable application of web3 technologies is cryptocurrencies, this space offers much more, from distributed databases to permanent storage to autonomous AI. This talk will attempt to give an overview of the current state of the space, what's likely on the horizon and how it can be integrated into your "web2" development toolset.
β± Intermission / Networking - 30min
π¦ Avoiding JavaScript Soup To Improve UX - Murray Bourne (X: @bourne_2_learn) - 25min
Too many sites give users a poor experience because pages are slow, clunky and error-prone. This talk will use a case study to demonstrate how we improve things by avoiding common JavaScript pitfalls.
β± Closing - Safe trip home folks!
β Why not volunteer to speak next time? We're taking talks anytime! https://brisjs.org/#present for details... or...
