Simply meditation on Wednesday mornings

Our minds are often like the rush of a river; never still but focusing on the past or speculating about the future.
On Wednesdays, we practice tranquillity or shamatha meditation, to start training the mind to let go of its restless wanderings and rest in the present. With practice, this means we can take this mindfulness into our day-to-day lives and start to be more skilful in our encounters with others.
Each class includes instructions on the meditation and is followed by refreshments and conversation. All are welcome to come along including children aged 12+ where accompanied by an adult. No experience is necessary; you can come to as many sessions as you wish and join at any time.
There is no charge for these sessions but we do encourage donations, which help us to maintain the Sakya Buddhist Centre and its activities. A suggested amount is £5 (£3) but it's entirely up to you. You can donate here: http://www.sakyabristol.org/donations/.

Every week on Wednesday
