What we’re about

Reincarnated Bristol Eating Out Group post covid!

We are a friendly group of people aged 55 years and over, who enjoy eating out in Bristol and thereabouts in congenial company.

We host meals for no more than 6 people at the table, so that everyone can talk to everyone else, and get to know each other. Occasionally, when a venue is very popular among our members, this may be increased to 8 people.

New members will pay a £5 joining fee. All members will pay a 6-monthly £5 membership fee due 1st March/June/September/December each year, depending on the date of joining the group. New members will pay their first 6-monthly membership as follows:

  • Joined up to 31 August 2024, first 6-monthly membership fee will be due 1 March 2025, then 1 September 2025 & etc
  • Join from 1 September 2024 - 30 November 2025, first 6-monthly membership fee will be due 1 June 2025, then 1 December 2025 & etc.
  • Join from 1 December 2024 - 28 February 2025, first 6-monthly membership fee will be due 1 September 2025, then 1 March 2026 & etc.
  • Join from 1 March 2025 - 31 May 2025, first 6-monthly membership fee will be due 1 December 2025, then 1 June 2026 & etc.
  • Join from 1 June 2025 - 31 August 2025, first 6-monthly membership fee will be due 1 March 2026, then 1 September 2026 & etc.

So all new members will have at least 6 months after joining before their first 6-monthly fee is due.

Members will receive a DM on Meetup a couple of weeks before their membership fees are due, requesting payment.

Members should only book (RSVP) an event if they have every intention of being there on the night. To emphasise this, a £10 deposit is required for every event booking (RSVP) from January 2025 onwards, which will be deducted from your bill on the night. It is non-refundable in the event of 2 consecutive RSVP cancellations.

All fees will be used to contribute to Meetup charges which allow us to use the Meetup.com website. The group will always be non-profit making, and any excess of fees collected over Meetup charges will be reimbursed to the whole membership in the form of reduced membership fees, when enough excess has been collected.

All members must upload a photo to their Meetup profile that clearly identifies them, which must remain on their profile throughout their membership. This is for security purposes, and to ensure that members can identify each other.

Members are actively encouraged to organise meals themselves, always catering for no more than 6 people - just ask the Group Organiser who will talk you through the process. As an incentive to do this, any member who organises and hosts 2 events that actually go ahead, in any 6-month period, will be exempted from the following 6-monthly membership fee.

We expect everyone in the group to treat other members with respect and courtesy at all times. Any form of abuse, whether verbal, in writing, or on-line will result in loss of membership.

The Group Organiser reserves the right to refuse or delete membership when appropriate.
