Join me for our monthly day trip where we get out of Bristol for a day of fun and adventure exploring some of nearby interesting historic towns/villages and countryside. All trips are arranged with public transport in mind but you drive over if you wish.

This month we will visit Cheddar Gorge a stunning natural landmark and England's largest gorge, boasting dramatic limestone cliffs, unique caves, and a diverse landscape.The gorge's formation began during the last Ice Age, with glacial meltwater carving the landscape.

On arrival at Cheddar Gorge we will allow some time to grab lunch before doing a 6.1 km Cheddar Gorge cliff hike which will last just over 2 hours. The walk will take in the fascinating cliffs and extraordinary caves with spectacular views from the top of the gorge. We will need to be careful around the steep cliff edges with sturdy footwear being essential.

We will catch a 9 24 train from Bristol Temple Meads to Weston Super Mare getting there 9.57 and then take the 10.10 121 bus to Cheddar village getting there by 11.08. If you plan to drive over meet us at Cheddar Village. The ticket will be £9.30 for an off peak day return to Weston and the bus will also cost a few pounds.

We can return by bus from Cheddar when we are ready. For those coming back by public transport we could always have some drinks and dinner in Weston if anyone's up for it.

Once we are done we can have a look around the various shops and cafes
You may also do some cheese tasting as cheddar cheese originates from Cheddar.

Join me for a night of comedy at the Tobacco Factory held outside in the
stretch tent within the yard area.

There is some flexibility over how much you wish to pay. A ticket costs a minimum of €6.99 but a more generous payment is encouraged if you can afford it so they can pay the comedians fairly and put on more future events.

We will meet from 7.00 pm in the yard in advance of 7.30 start time.

Join me for a Sunday picnic social followed by live music.

Hidden amongst Georgian homes and Charming streets Victoria Square will be our picnic spot just outside Clifton Village. it's in close proximity to all the cafes and shops so plenty of places to grab something to eat.

Around 6 pm we can head over to the Bristol Fringe a small live music venue in Clifton where there is free Iive music from 6 pm.

I did this social last August and it proved to be a lovely afternoon so thought I would do it again.

Join me for an end of summer social at The Rising Sun pub in the heart of Windmill Hill. As well as this we can also celebrate our groups 2 year anniversary (I started this group 1/9/2023).

it's a quirky place with chabby chick mirrors and local art work adorning the walls and has a great line up of beers including those you won't find elsewhere in the city.

It also has a large garden around the back which I have hired for exclusive use for our group. I believe they may also have live music later in the evening.

We do also have the option for buffet food. Please let me know if you would like this and willing to chip in.

This should be a fun and relaxed evening with good company and I hope to see as many of you as possible.
