Lacock Village Circular Walk πΎππ±π‘

Details
Join me for a lovely countryside walk taking in the villages of Lacock and Bowden Hill. The walk starts at Lacock Abbey car park and takes us across the river Avon through the countryside following the path along the former Wilts and Berks canal leading up to Bowden Hill which offers panoramic views of the Avon Valley and Lacock nestled below. The walk is 9.5kms long taking around 2 hours 40 mins to complete.
Once we are done with the walk we can spend some time in Lacock. It's known for being a well preserved medieval village due to being owned by The National Trust. As a result it's also been a filming location for many period drama TV series and films such as Pride and Predudice, and Downtown Abbey. As well as this some scenes from the first and 6 Harry Potter movies were filmed here allowing you to see some of these filming places. It also has some nice unique speciality shops and pubs. Worth bringing some change a long as some villagers sell home made cakes with honesty boxes for payment.
We will catch a 10.30 an train to Chippenham and then a 11.00 am x34 bus to Leacock getting there around 11.15 am.
If you plan to travel you can meet us by the Lacock Abbey car park where the walk begins. You can bring your own lunch for the walk if you wish or get something to eat after.
I did a Day trip to Lacock a year ago which was lovely and this one expands on that by seeing more of the surrounding countryside.
We can return from Lacock and head back to Bristol when we are ready.
