Let's get out for a pleasent winter walk along the very edge of the Mendip Hills national landscape taking us up Knowle Hill and along the Chew Valley lake. The route takes in a mix of roads barracks and footpaths.

From the center of Chew Magna we will pass through the surrounding fields up Knowle Hill where we will have wonderful views from the top. From here we will descend to the banks of the Chew Valley lake where we will walk along the waterside before following the meandering river back to Chew Magna. Please bring some lunch along with you as we will aim to stop by the picnic tables close to the lake.

The walk is 8 km long and will take 2-2.5 hours to complete. I would advise walking/hiking shoes.

We will take the x91 big lemon bus from Bristol T1 bus stop (I will board from Bedminster) at 11.30 am. This will arrive at the Chew Magna sacred heart Church at 12.07 pm. If you plan to drive over please meet us there.

Once we are done with the walk we can have a drink in one of the local pubs and return to Bristol when we are ready.
