Join us for a beautiful 6.3-mile circular walk in the stunning Mendip Hills, starting and finishing in the charming village of Compton Martin.

The Route

We’ll begin with a steady climb up to a panoramic viewpoint above the village. From this elevated spot, you’ll be rewarded with sweeping views across Chew Valley Lake and Blagdon Lake, with Compton Martin nestled between them.

From the ridge, we’ll descend towards Ubley, a historic village near Blagdon Lake at the foot of the hills. Ubley is home to a beautiful 13th -century church and retains much of its traditional rural character.

We’ll then follow scenic countryside trails looping us back towards Compton Martin, completing the circular route.

Post-Walk Refreshments

After the hike, we can relax with drinks at the lovely Ring O Bells — a 16th-century free house pub full of character. Expect original dark beams, stone walls, a large inglenook fireplace, and a spacious beer garden — the perfect reward after a good walk.
