We know that many of our members & supporters are keen to walk, and walking is a great way to get to know people. So, we have started up a Walking Group, organised by our committee member Chris.

Join Bristol Humanists for a sociable summertime walk from Old Sodbury to Horton Court and back, via a Roman hill fort.

This will be a fairly level seven-mile circular walk with the option to finish at the picnic spot after the first 4 miles. The route will take us from Old Sodbury village up onto the Cotswold edge,
through the Impressive Roman hill fort and on until we stop for a picnic in the grounds of Horton Court and Church. The return route runs under the edge, through Little Sodbury and back through
Old Sodbury’s churchyard, which commands fantastic views over the Severn plain.

Where: Starting point will be Old Sodbury - BS37 6RJ, a twenty minute drive North/East from central Bristol. There is also a bus service, but lifts should be available via the Whatsapp group, if
you provide your pickup location.

When: Sunday August 9th, starting at 11.a.m. It will take around two hours to walk to Horton, an hour for a lazy picnic and an hour and a half to return. We should arrive back at the starting point
by 4pm. Anyone wishing to just do the first section to Horton would be finished by 2pm.

Everyone welcome, Full details available by joining the WhatsApp Walking Group or message bristolhumanists@gmail.com, with Walking Group in the subject line.

Full & final details will be sent to participants via the WhatsApp group a few days beforehand.
