Spanish Book Club: La hija única, de Guadalupe Nettel

¡Buenos días!
Muchas gracias por asistir ayer al segundo evento del club de lectura en español.
¡Ya hay un nuevo encuentro para el mes de septiembre!
Esta vez la novela es La hija única, de la escritora mexicana Guadalupe Nettel.
Pequeño recordatorio de las reglas:
-Es muy recomendable haber leído el libro entero, para poder participar en la discusión.
-Un nivel intermedio/avanzado de español es necesario, ya que la conversación va a ser fundamentalmente en español y van a discutirse temas relativamente complejos. El objetivo del club de lectura es poder hablar de literatura y disfrutarla, no sólo practicar un idioma.
-Voy a incluir una lista de preguntas en “Imágenes” para orientar la discusión el día del encuentro. No hay respuestas correctas ni incorrectas, y todas las opiniones son bienvenidas.
-El evento es en Casa Latina, en Bedminster. Se sirven bebidas y comida latina muy rica (arepas!), pero no cafés ni bebidas calientes. No hay obligación de comer nada, pero sí sería educado hacer una mínima consumición. Hay parking gratis y las mascotas son bienvenidas.
-Por favor, si no podéis venir, actualizad el RSVP, para que no estemos esperando a gente que luego no llega a presentarse.
-Voy a crear un sistema de votación para elegir el siguiente libro. Por favor, si tenéis sugerencias, hacédmelas llegar.

Many thanks for taking part in our second meeting of the Spanish book club.
We already have another meeting planned for September.
We are going to talk about La hija unica (Stillborn) from the Mexican author Guadalupe Nettel.
Little reminder of the rules:
-It is highly recommended to have read the whole book before you attend the meeting, so you can take part in our discussion.
-An intermediate/advanced level of Spanish is a requirement. The goal of the book club is to be able to discuss literary topics and enjoy them, not only to practise a language.
-I will update some questions in “Images”, as a guide for our discussion. This is not a close list, and there is no right or wrong answer. You are more than welcome to share your own thoughts and opinions.
-The event is in Casa Latina, Bedminster. You can order drinks and delicious food (arepas!) but there are no hot drinks. There is no obligation to buy a meal, but it would be polite to make some form of purchase. Parking is for free and pets are welcome.
-Please, if you cannot make it, kindly update your RSVP, so we are not waiting for people who will not turn up.
- I am going to set up a voting system so we can choose the next book. Please, if you have suggestions, kindly send them my way.
