Spanish Book Club: El fin del amor by Tamara Tenenbaum
Details
Hello everyone! In April we're going to be reading El Fin Del Amor by Tamara Tenenbaum. This book is a bit different to the ones we've read so far: it's a book of essays focused on modern relationships (and the history that brought them to this point), told through the lens of the author's lived experience as someone brought up in a Jewish Orthodox family - to whom the secular rules of sex and desire were totally foreign.
You can find the book in Spanish:
Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/El-fin-del-amor-Spanish-ebook/dp/B07QNDPZ9Z/
Book Delivery: https://www.bookdelivery.com/gb-en/book-fin-del-amor-el/9789873804922/p/51456783#
And it looks like it's free on the Internet Archive as well: https://archive.org/details/el-fin-del-amor-by-tamara-200-pp-tenenbaum-z-lib.org-.epub/
But also in English if you'd prefer:
Waterstones: https://www.waterstones.com/book/the-end-of-love/tamara-tenenbaum/carolina-parodi/9781787704978
Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/End-Love-Desire-Twenty-First-Century-ebook/dp/B0CF48GWFK/
It's highly recommended that you read the whole book (in Spanish, English or the language of your choosing!) before the date of the book club; however, you are still welcome to come if you don't quite manage it.
An intermediate/advanced level of Spanish is welcome but not mandatory. The goal of the book club is to analyse the book of the month and engage in literary discussion, rather than to simply practise a language (however, you are welcome to listen in, in order to learn new phrases in Spanish).
¡Te esperamos!
