What our sessions are like
You do not need to have played korfball, netball, basketball or any other team sport before. Most people who join us are beginners when they first come along.
You can expect:
- A relaxed, welcoming session with coaches and experienced club members
- An introduction to the basic rules and skills of korfball
- Fun drills and games
- A friendly match at the end of the session
- The option to join us for pub drinks afterwards and get to know the club
There will usually be around 12–20 friendly Bristol City Korfball Club members at training, so you will not be arriving on your own into an unfamiliar group.
Payment
Your first two sessions are free.
After that, it is £7 pay-as-you-go, with affordable membership options available. Bristol City Korfball Club is volunteer-run and non-profit. More details about payment options are available in the membership section of our website.

What is korfball?
Korfball is a fast-paced, mixed-gender team sport often described as a combination of netball and basketball. It is played in teams of eight, with equal numbers of women and men, and rewards movement, teamwork and quick passing rather than individual physicality.
It is sociable, accessible and great exercise — while also offering the chance to play competitively in local leagues and outdoor summer competitions.
This could be for you if…
- You want to get fitter in a fun, supportive environment
- You are looking to meet new people in Bristol
- You enjoy team sports but do not want to need previous experience
- You would like the option to play league matches as you progress
- You want a regular midweek activity with a friendly social side
Come and give it a go — we would love to welcome you onto court! 🏐
