MEET at 10:40, I'll be on a *BLACK* bike:
Outside the Nova Scotia, BS1 6XJ - at the Cumberland Basin end of the Bristol floating harbour.

Starting at 10:45, we should finish the ride back at the start point 'around noon'.
(there's an optional stop here at the end, for a drink and a chat if preferred...)

The RIDE -
Mainly separate from traffic, i.e. on cyclepaths / back roads.
There will be no planned stop*.
Please, check with me if you're not sure if this ride is for you ! :-)
We'll ride WEST ALONG THE NORTH BANK OF THE AVON (A4, the Portway). Over the 'M5 bridge', returning through Pill, onto the cycleway alongside the A369. See 'photo's'...

*This is still a 'Sociable' ride, but we will be riding quicker than the usual rides. [If they are around 8mph average, this will be 'nearer 12mph'...]

THE PLAN: It's Sociable Cycling, please bring a tube for your bike, and apropriate tools. Consider water, snack, sunscreen...

LINKS:
Nova Scotia โ€“ Historic Dockside Pub

Please respect that we ride in a group and the ride leader has to make
decisions on behalf of the group, these need to be followed.

The ride leader will modulate the pace to suit the group and the conditions (this is a try-out !). Please do not overtake the leader this generally leads to people getting lost.

Your bike needs to be recently ridden and in good order. You should bring a spare inner tube for your bike. This is to avoid holding up the rest of the group. There is likely to be someone on the ride who can help mend a puncture, although this is not guaranteed.

'SOCIALS'; for the Sociable Cycling Group -
Alongside this 'Sociable Cycling MeetUp' group website, there are 2 general WhatsApp group chats, ask a ride leader for details if you want to join them.
These are generic social group chats, to keep in touch and arranging off-meetup rides.

PARKING nearby:
On street and council owned car parks - maybe time limited to 3 or 4 hours, but please check ! 'On street' south of North Street / Tobacco factory generally unrestricted (5-10 mins away). A few of the car parks are within the Bristol Clean Air Zone, domestic and commercial vehicles may incur a charge.
