Details
This is essentially the same route to Chepstow which was posted a few weeks ago, but with the extension to Tintern. It goes through Blaise Castle Estate and then past Severn Beach across the old Severn Bridge. It is mostly a mix of shared paths and quiet lanes with some stretches on road. Total distance is approximately 86km (54 miles). There are a few bits of climbing but nothing too challenging - check the route for details. The pace will be fairly casual. The approach to Tintern passes through the 1km long Tidenham Tunnel along the Wye Vallley Greenway.
Meeting place is outside the Nova Scotia Pub, Hotwells. I'll be on a black and red Btwin bike with a red bag. We'll set off at 10:00am, please arrive in good time.
The plan is to stop for a pub lunch in the village but other options are available.

Please respect that we ride in a group and the ride leader has to make decisions on behalf of the group, which should be followed.
The ride leader will stop for catch-ups, at junctions and hills. Please avoid overtaking the leader as this can lead to people getting lost.
Your bike should be recently ridden and in good order. You should bring a spare inner tube for your bike. This is to avoid holding up the rest of the group. There is likely to be someone on the ride who can help mend a puncture, although this is not guaranteed.
Grading definitions:
[Easy]
This will be almost entirely traffic free or on very quiet roads, mostly flat, and distances which can be managed by those who may not ride a great deal.
[Intermediate]
This may include sections on-road where there is traffic. There may also be moderate hills and the distance will require a certain degree of fitness. Flat or "easy" routes may be designated intermediate if a certain pace is expected.
[Hard]
This may include sections of busy road requiring confidence in traffic. There may also be tough climbs, either steep or a considerable distance. Suitable only for those who frequently ride for significant distances.
[Very Hard]
All of the above combined with pace. Beyond the scope of this group!
