The Fleece At Hillesley

Hillesley is one of a few villages in Gloucestershire that this route passes through. We will start by heading out of Bristol via Stoke Park and then along the ring road path out of the city onto mainly country lanes.

Meeting place will be Castle Park, opposite the Left Handed Giant brewpub. I'll be on a black and red Btwin bike with a red bag. We'll set off at 10:00am, please arrive in good time.

Depending on progress, we can stop for a coffee break on the way.

The round trip is around 70km/43mi with 600m/2000ft of ascent.

It isn't too hilly for the most part, but there is a bit of a climb up towards the pub - a chance to build up an appetite!

Although mostly on tarmac, there are some sections of gravel which may not be suitable for very narrow tyres.

Please respect that we ride in a group and the ride leader has to make decisions on behalf of the group, which should be followed.

The ride leader will stop for catch-ups, at junctions and hills. Please avoid overtaking the leader as this can lead to people getting lost.

Your bike should be recently ridden and in good order. You should bring a spare inner tube for your bike. This is to avoid holding up the rest of the group. There is likely to be someone on the ride who can help mend a puncture, although this is not guaranteed.
