This is a bit of a hilly ride, at least on the way out of Bristol and towards the pretty Cotswold village of Marshfield. We will however be riding at a very casual pace and taking the hills showly. First there is a gradual climb out of Bristol towards Hanham and then again after Oldland Common. The steepest part is through Dyrham, heading up towards Marshfield, which is on very high ground. There is a bit more climbing passing through the outskirts of Bath before it flattens out for the return to Bristol.

Meeting in Castle Park, opposite the Left Handed Giant Brewpub. I'll be on a silver Ribble bike. We'll set off at 10:00am, please arrive in good time and ready to ride.

We will stop in Marshfield for a pub lunch, and time permitting, a second stop for refreshments heading towards Bristol.

The round trip will be around 67km/41mi with 890m/2900ft of ascent.

The lane coming through St Catherines is quite rough and potholed, so narrow tyres may struggle. The river path back to Bristol can also be muddy if there has been recent rain.

Please respect we ride in a group and the ride leader has to make decisions on behalf of the group, these need to be followed.

The ride leader will stop for catch-ups, at junctions and hills. Please do not overtake the leader this generally leads to people getting lost.

Your bike needs to be recently ridden and in good order. You should bring a spare inner tube for your bike. This is to avoid holding up the rest of the group. There is likely to be someone on the ride who can help mend a puncture, although this is not guaranteed.
