GMTK Games Jam 2024

This summer we're hosting our first GMTK JAM!

If you've been to the Global Games Jam with us then you may be familiar with the venue and format. We're at DBS Institute of Sound again for the jam, located close to Temple Meads and Castle Park.

This Jam will be a little more low key, low friction. Come join us for the theme reveal on the friday night from 6pm (theme at 7pm) and again for the presentations around 5pm on the sunday. Inbetween... do what you like!! Stay with the whole time of join your team remotely on our Discord.

The venue will be open:

• Friday 6pm - 10pm (7pm announcing the theme)
• Saturday 10am - 10pm
• Sunday 10am - 7pm

Viki and I will be around jamming ourselves as well as helping out, but its up to you to make the most out of the jam.

A little different from the Global Games Jam, buuuuut similar to Ludum Dare on sunday you can either upload you game into the 48 hour or under category OR keep going for a maximum of 4 total days... After 7pm on the 20th or August judging online will start so please judge and play other people's games AND share your links on our discord to encourage the Bristol jammers to rate.

Though there's no specific prizes we will do a best game in the enjoyment, creativity, and presentation categories to reflect the online judging categories by show of hands at the end of the presentations.

PLEASE Register a ticket here on meetup if you're going to come to the venue so we get an idea of numbers. You can also join us on the discord all weekend if you're jamming at home.
