This is a planned walk from Keynsham up to Kelston Roundhill which has stunning views across Bristol and the surrounding area.

Bring with you
You will need sensible walking shoes, a bottle of water and I recommend bringing binoculars if you have them.

Route

We shall start from outside the Lock Keeper pub in Keynsham. For the first part of the walk, we will follow the river Avon, walking through fields for about 2.5 miles. This is all on the flat.

Then we cross the road and walk along the pavement for about 3/4 mile until we turn off and begin our ascent. (According to Google - 640 feet.)
The first part of the ascent is along a tarmacked road and is steep in places. Then the path becomes more uneven as we get closer.
Finally reaching the trees which are in a field on their own.
Total distance about 5 miles; approx 2 hours.

From here, we will take in the views over Bristol. On a clear day you can see the Severn bridges and into Wales.

Afterwards, we shall go down the other side into Weston, and get the bus into Bath. We can then go somewhere for lunch.

The descent is a shorter journey, but in places is steep coming down
