From a conventional upbringing to global notoriety via The Naked Civil Servant, Quentin Crisp was one of the most memorable figures of the twentieth century. Openly gay as early as the 1930s, Quentin spent decades being beaten up on London’s streets for his refusal to be anything less than himself.

Written and performed by Mark Farrelly, Naked Hope portrays two phases of Crisp's life: the late 1960s in his filthy Chelsea flat, and 1990s New York where he regales an audience with his sharply-observed, hard-earned philosophy on how to have a lifestyle.

One performance only, 5pm Sunday 2nd November at the Alma Tavern, Clifton. Tickets are £16. The theatre is small (only 50 seats) so buy soon as this show will almost certainly sell out.

Meet in the Alma Tavern bar from 4:30pm.

The Alma Tavern does a good selection of pub food so we can eat after. Their website says live music on Sundays.
