Hello and welcome! This group is for individuals who have lived in the UK or have a deep, personal connection to British culture. While we appreciate admiration for the UK, this space is specifically for those with firsthand experience of British customs, humor, and daily life. Our goal is to foster a community where members can connect over shared experiences rather than general interest.
Help build this community by sharing stories, photos, and comments—or ask questions about home or life in Seattle! For example, where can you find HP sauce without paying a small fortune?
To keep the group’s purpose intact while allowing meaningful engagement, non-UK-experienced members (Anglophiles) must be sponsored by an existing member who understands the group's mission and is willing to vouch for them. Sponsors should accompany their guest to in-person events to help them integrate into the community.
Anglophiles interested in joining our events are encouraged to actively participate in message boards and discussions via meetup and our facebook group in order to build connections. Once they’ve engaged and formed relationships, they can seek a sponsor who feels they would be a good fit for in-person gatherings. This ensures that all members contribute positively to the group dynamic.
