What we’re about
Hello! This group is for British and Irish people living in Madrid to connect and form a community. This is not a language conversation group or a place for Spanish and British people to meet each other, there are lots of those already, rather the idea is to create a space for people from the British Isles (which includes Ireland, of course) who are a minority here, to meet socially.
We've created this Meetup because we've found that after living in Madrid for several years our British friends have tended to move back home and whilst we love living here and hanging out with the locals, we also miss a bit of British conversation from time to time. Non-Brits are of course welcome to come to events too but if your aim is to practise your English please try one of the specific intercambio meetup groups.
So if you're interested in meeting up with other like-minded people in the city, sign up and come join us! We like to keep things casual; some beers in a bar is the usual kind of event. The idea is to get everyone in one place so that you can start up friendships with the people you click with most.
