Abstract:

The release of Spring Boot 4 and Spring Framework 7 marks a generational shift in the Java ecosystem. Moving beyond incremental updates, this release establishes a new baseline for enterprise development, powered by Java 25, Jakarta EE 11, and a completely modularized runtime.

In this deep-dive session, we will explore the new and noteworthy features that redefine how we build applications in 2026 and beyond, including First-Class API Versioning, Declarative HTTP Interfaces, and new observability modules and metrics. Using examples from our real-life code using a custom Spring Boot Parent, we will also show some of the specific problems we encountered during the upgrade.

Join us to understand why Spring Boot 4 is not just an upgrade, but a necessary evolution for the cloud-native future of Java.
