Santa Rosa Wine Country Ride
Details
Beautiful ride from the SMART train Downtown Santa Rosa station to the Hook & Ladder Vineyard and Winery on Olivet road. 10 miles of this out-and-back route are Class 1 bike path along scenic Santa Rosa Creek. Our ride takes us through beautiful creek riparian habitat and charming Russia River Valley vineyards. We have a coffee stop (Bad Ass Coffee on Stony Point) along the way to the winery. At the winery we'll have (optional $15) wine tasting and learn about owners Cecil and Christine De Loach and their contributions to creation of the Russian River Valley appellation. Some snacks are available for purchase, and/or we can bring our own lunch for a picnic on the grounds, Our ride back is the same route -- but looking the other direction! Our start and end point is the SMART train station in Downtown Santa Rosa. You can catch the train at any stop if you are in Marin or Sonoma counties. SMART northbound train arrives in Santa Rosa Downtown Station at 10:57 am.
(Note: Earlier info about the SF Ferry connection was in error -- the ferry does not run early enough on weekends. My bad. But you could drive to Larkspur and hop on the SMART train there.)
