What we’re about
The Brookdale Computer User Group [BCUG] is people excited (or wanting to learn) about using computers, smart phones, tablets and other devices, and includes everyone from new users to experts who meet in various workshops to promote usage, understanding and enjoyment of these devices. We offer presentations of hardware and software as well as lively discussions among members. Everyone is welcome to attend a BCUG meeting. Our monthly workshops cover topics like Access&VBA, Graphics, Internet, Linux, Macintosh&iOS, Excel&Spreadsheets, PC Roundtable (for any questions or problems), Windows & Hardware, and Word Processing. AppleWaves, formally known as MacWaves, is the the Apple Special Interest Group of the Brookdale Computer Users Group. We've changed our name to reflect the fact that we don't just focus on the Macintosh computer, but on iPads, iPhones, AppleWatch, and their many peripherals as well. Our goal is to help you keep your knowledge up to date on Apple products and the the Apps you use. We want to get all your Apple devices trouble free, working in sync, so that they help make your life easier and keep you better organized.
We meet on the 2nd Saturday of the month via Zoom, for an hour or so at 10am as a Round Table with myself as host. We will try and answer your questions and have informal presentations on topics of interest, the latest news from Apple, and how to keep your devices secure. We’ll learn how to get the most out of your Apps like Notes, Calendar, Reminders, Shortcuts, Health and discover all the jewels hidden away in the Accessibility Settings. If you join our sponsoring organization, the Brookdale Computer User Group [BCUG], or if you email Bob Shindel [bob_shindel@mac.com] – we can send you an invitation to the next Zoom meeting.
There is no cost to attend any MacWaves meeting, but we hope you will consider joining BCUG; information about joining is available at www.bcug.com.
