BCUG Linux User Group meeting: Talk and learn about Linux!

Details

Notice: for the next 3 months, starting tonight, the BCUG Linux User Group will meet in the back meeting room of the Tinton Falls Library. This is an experiment to see if this location works for us. There will be no meeting of the Linux group this Friday at SCAN. I apologize for the lateness of this announcement, and I hoped you received the announcement of the meeting change through the BCUG email list earlier this week. -- Lee Maxwell

Co-leader Bill Chriss will most likely discuss a Linux distro in depth, while Lee Maxwell will talk about the basics of Linux, which can include using the Linux graphical user interface, using a particular Linux-based program or using the Linux shell. Another Linux user, Sergey Gleizer, is lecturing on command-line file management and other topics.

The Linux User Group workshop is for those interested in the Linux operating system, programs that run under it, and hardware on which it operates. Linux distributions run on a variety of computers, including both PC and Macintosh hardware.

We meet to hear a presentation on an aspect of Linux and to discuss problems and solutions that our members have found.

We welcome all, experienced Linux users, those just getting started, and those are interested but have never used it.
