About us
A new forming Paradox Collective starts with two assumptions:
There is no controlling the future of AI without understanding and engaging AI
These tools that isolate us from one another inspire us to meet one another offline to decide how, or whether, to use them
We are organizing an in-person gathering in Brooklyn for people who want to grapple with AI (artificial/algorithmic intelligence) while staying grounded in human connection. We will consider hallucination implications, corporate control, and military uses.
Despite the paradox, we are explicitly seeking people who are skeptical that “the master’s tools” alone can fix what AI is breaking, and who want to think about new forms of organization, regulation, and resistance together.
This first Paradox Collective meetup will be on Saturday, Feb 14 at 2 pm, near the Myrtle–Broadway subway stop in Brooklyn, with exact location shared upon request by email.. Expect a mix of political analysis, story-sharing, and practical plotting about how we can respond to AI’s role in climate, war, surveillance, and everyday life without losing our way. [More background and assumptions]
