Fort Greene Park -- Avalanche Beacon Test and Safety Outing
Details
Set your beacon to SEND and head to Fort Greene Park. As an organizer, I'll be in SEARCH. As I sweep the park and find "victims," they will switch to help with the remaining search. When we have our party together, we can keep practicing the protocols and look for the most likely slopes in the park that could slide (if we ever get enough snow :) Stay around the monument in the center of the park and wear a bandana. Join the WhatsApp group so we can stay in touch:

What3Words is a great app for communicating location during this event and in actual rescue situations.

NOTE: this Meetup is not a substitute for a real avalanche safety course, it's just a fun warmer.
