About us

NY Walk Therapy is for people who spend a little too much time sitting behind a screen and want to get outside, move, and connect beyond small talk.

I started this group because, as an engineer, I spend much of my day sitting and working alone. Walking by the water has always felt therapeutic: it clears my head, changes my perspective, and makes conversation flow more naturally. I figured other New Yorkers might be craving the same thing.

At our events, we’ll take scenic walks—often along the waterfront—and use thoughtful prompts to spark conversations about life, relationships, personal growth, and the things we don’t always get to discuss in everyday life. We may rotate conversation partners during the walk, then finish with a casual group reflection and an optional drink or bite nearby.

This group is for curious, open-minded people who want to meet others in a more meaningful way. You don’t need to be especially outgoing, athletic, or comfortable sharing deeply. Participate at your own pace and share only what feels right.

Despite the name, NY Walk Therapy is not therapy or a mental-health service. It’s simply walking, talking, and connecting with other people.

Let’s get off our screens, stretch our legs, and talk about real life.
