150th Anniversary of the Abolition of Slavery in Puerto Rico

Join BombaYo for a commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the abolition of slavery in Puerto Rico. The day begins with a dance movement class facilitated but dance therapist, Mara Rivera. A light meal will be provided, followed by a ceremonial tribute to our ancestors. A brief discussion will focus on slavery as an institutional practice in Puerto Rico, as well as the abolition movement.
