Join us on September 14th when we take our 7th trip to the Renaissance Faire in Tuxedo Park NY. We have no theme so come dressed as your favorite being from any realm or time you choose! It is, after all, a big ball of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey… stuff.
There is parking available if you choose to drive. Go to this site for driving directions: http://renfair.com/ny/directions-weather/bus-from-nyc/
There are also buses that leave from Port Authority around 10am, that drop us off & pick us up at approximately 6:30pm, right in front of the Faire.
You can buy tickets online or purchase in person. If you buy the bus ticket combo, be sure to PRINT YOUR CONFIRMATION and go to the ticket office the morning of to collect your bus ticket. This takes FOREVER. So we encourage you to arrive at 9am for the 10am bus. One year the first bus left at 9:15 am so be on time! Go to this site for more info about getting the bus: https://web.coachusa.com/shortline/booking.asp?action=ProductBooking&productId=3167&=1www.coachusa.com

This is Rain or Shine. If you have any questions, please let me know. Hope to see you there! Huzzah!
PS: Everyone that signs up will get a message with Erin or Dawn's cell phone so we can find you at the bus terminal. Cell service is really spotty at the Faire itself, so let us know how you're getting to the Faire so we can have a meetup plan.

The book for September is recommended by Maria - A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair. Maria says it is Greek mythology told in a modern way. Persephone is a sheltered college student, Hades is a nightclub owner. He makes bargains with souls in his nightclub. Here bargain is that she needs to create life in the underworld in six months or live there forever. A Touch of Darkness is available as an ebook, audiobook, or print.
Here's what the publisher says:
. Persephone is the Goddess of Spring by title only. The truth is, since she was a little girl, flowers have shriveled at her touch. After moving to New Athens, she hopes to lead an unassuming life disguised as a mortal journalist.
. Hades, God of the Dead, has built a gambling empire in the mortal world and his favorite bets are rumored to be impossible.
. After a chance encounter with Hades, Persephone finds herself in a contract with the God of the Dead and the terms are impossible: Persephone must create life in the Underworld or lose her freedom forever.
. The bet does more than expose Persephone’s failure as a Goddess, however. As she struggles to sow the seeds of her freedom, love for the God of the Dead grows—and it’s forbidden.Happy Reading!
The book for each month is chosen at the previous book club. So please come with your suggestions!
Paddy's of Park Slope serves plenty of drinks, but does not serve food. They welcome people to bring in food, or order in.
