Modern paganism, witches -- what do you make of this? Some are bewitched, some bothered, some bewildered. Nearing Halloween, it's easy to see how disrespected the word "witch" is in our current American culture. Think: Salem witch trials for some history. In some parts of the world, people are still being put to death on suspicion of being witches. What can we all learn from the more public re-emergence of practices and ideas rooted in religions which predate the major monotheisms of the West?
