Community singing rehearsal to learn some of the protest songs coming out of Minneapolis.

Singer/songwriter Joshua Blaine will help lead.
Join us for a communal singing gathering where activists and neighbors come together to learn and practice songs of resistance.
Guided by choir leaders Chelsea Mac and visiting musician Josh Blaine ("We Get There Together"), participants will warm up, learn harmonies, and rehearse protest folk songs rooted in civil rights movements and the ongoing struggle for justice today, such as the songs popularized by the Minneapolis anti-ICE movement.

No musical experience is required. Lyrics will be provided and beginners are welcome.

This is not a performance rehearsal. Instead, we are building confidence, voice, and solidarity so participants can comfortably sing at marches, rallies, and public actions.

The space is intergenerational, seated and movement friendly, and open to anyone with a voice and a willingness to participate. The focus is healing, courage, and community building through collective song.

We'll also discuss upcoming opportunities for street singing, such as local protests and the upcoming Singing Resistance NYC's Solidarity Sing in Foley Square on Saturday, Feb 28 at 1pm.
Free and open to the public.

Just bring yourself.
