Abstract
This workshop is designed to provide participants with a foundational understanding of the R programming language. It is written by and for (data-)scientists to be a powerful tool for data science, statistics and datavisualisation. R is free and open source, which means professionals all over the world are continually updating and adding functionality. With R you can transform and investigate your raw data into actionable insights that drive intelligent decision-making and innovation. Over the course of two hours, attendees will be introduced to the basics of R programming, including data types, variables, and basic operations. The workshop will also cover essential concepts such as data structures, control structures, and functions in R. Participants will learn how to import and export data, visualize data u, and utilize for loops and while loops for efficient programming. By the end of the workshop, attendees will have the skills and knowledge to start exploring and analyzing data using R.
