Iris is organizing the Edinburgh Intercultural Mindfulness Festival in May, and it’s an honor to be part of it. I had a call with Iris a while ago, and her energy felt really nourishing.
People often say it matters who you surround yourself with, which is most likely why I love being with kids - their aliveness and genuinty also nourishes me.
I also really value learning from those who carry a stable, grounded presence. My yoga teacher Lingli is one of those people, she holds space for students from around the world, softly and firmly, day after day.
She spent the first 3 hours of our "yoga teacher training" explaining these three words for yoga postures : Sthira sukham āsanam (from the Yoga Sūtra)
If we translate it roughly, it goes as "stable and easeful."
Sthira – structural stability, inner firmness
Sukha – ease, comfort, spaciousness (su means “good,” kha means “space”, so something that flows well, waaaaaa )
Āsanam – a seat, a place where one can remain
Tea brings me the same feeling: stable and easeful.
And I'd like to share with more people tea - tea as a tool, as a company, as an anchor when one might feel a bit lost at the present. Well, first of all, it should be tasty !! :)
Maybe see you in Edingburgh.
