Debate Night: Occult
Details
The occult has always fascinated humanity, a shadowy world where the laws of the everyday no longer seem to apply, where invisible forces stir just beyond our perception. From whispered rituals to ancient grimoires, the pursuit of hidden knowledge has been both alluring and feared. Across cultures and centuries, people have sought ways to bend, glimpse, or even converse with forces that lie outside the ordinary, as if drawn by the promise of power or understanding that the mundane cannot provide.
Yet, with mystery comes a question of responsibility. When one delves into realms that most cannot perceive, when the unknown becomes something you can touch, shape, or command, the line between wonder and chaos blurs. How should society navigate these hidden powers? Should curiosity alone suffice, or should there be boundaries, guiding who may engage with the arcane and how far they may go?
This debate will follow a British Parliamentary format with eight debaters split into four teams of two.
