A hands-on documentary filmmaking workshop in Brussels for beginners, filmmakers, journalists, artists, communication professionals and anyone interested in documentary storytelling.

The workshop consists of two complementary modules. You can join either module separately or take both as a complete journey from filming to editing.
MODULE 1 — FILMING
19–20 September | 10:30–17:30

Learn how to turn an idea into visual material for a short documentary. Through practical exercises and guided shooting, you will work on interviews, B-roll, composition, light, sound and visual storytelling. You will film both indoors and outdoors and receive individual feedback.
MODULE 2 — EDITING
10–11 October | 10:30–17:30
€260
Learn how to transform raw footage into a short documentary. We will work on selecting footage, finding the story, structure, rhythm, interviews, B-roll, sound and music. The workshop uses DaVinci Resolve (free version), with a strong focus on storytelling.
BOTH MODULES — €499
Join the complete workshop and follow the process from capturing documentary material to shaping it into a finished short film.
No previous filmmaking or editing experience is required.
For Module 1, you can work with a camera or your mobile phone.
The workshops are limited to 6–8 participants to allow for individual guidance and feedback.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
I’m Anja Strelec, an award-winning documentary filmmaker, journalist and visual storyteller based in Brussels. I work across documentary film, television and audiovisual production, collaborating with international organisations, NGOs and European institutions.
I’m passionate about helping people develop their own stories and learn practical filmmaking skills through hands-on experience.
