About us

We run weekly weekend sessions at Centre Sportif Mounier with clearly separated skill levels.
How to register
🎯 Two slots, two levels
• Saturday 15:30 — Beginners & Intermediates
Friendly speed rotation. Welcoming to anyone who wants to play in a relaxed atmosphere, regardless of experience.
• Sunday 14:00 — Advanced & Competitive
Singles matches, best of 3 or 5, serious play. For club regulars, FRBTT classés, league participants, and strong self-taught players. Coming back from your club's summer break? This is the slot that keeps you sharp.

🆙 Looking for the in-between?
Our sister group Brussels Ping-Pong Bash runs Sunday 16:00 — Intermediate to Advanced, the bridge between social and serious.
🌍 We speak English so everyone can follow.

🤝 Our spirit
We treat each other as responsible adults: we care for the equipment, keep the atmosphere positive, and respect each other's level — across all slots.

🏓 How we play
The format adapts to the level: speed rotation with 12-minute matches and partner switches on Saturday; best-of-X singles matches with score keeping on Sunday advanced.

Four tables cost the same whether eight of us turn up or fourteen.
For every two-hour session, I book four tables at Centre Sportif Mounier. The centre bills
them by the half hour, and its rate has gone up: a table now costs €7.80 an hour.
That puts a session at just over €62 for the tables alone. The amount stays the same
however many players show up.

Dividing the table cost by fourteen gives the right answer for a full room. But the room is
rarely at fourteen, since we are most of the time less than twelve.
At €6.50, it took ten players to pay for the tables. At the new price of €7.50, nine players
are enough to cover them.
The Mounier increase accounts for only a small part of this change, around thirty cents
per player on a typical day. The rest keeps a session going when the room isn't full.

If we were regularly twelve or more, €6.50 would cover the tables with a small margin to
spare.
To hold the slots, Mounier requires them to be booked and paid in advance, so I pay for
the whole year upfront, whether sessions fill up or not. Sign-ups run through joynuz.be
and match rotation through ttplanning, two tools I built and maintain for these sessions.
Neither these tools nor the Meetup organiser subscription I pay to list the sessions is part
of the table cost.
