Thirteen-year-old Nawi’s smarts earn her a rare opportunity to attend high school. When her father plots to marry her off to a much older man, she decides to resist tradition and fight for self-determination. Based on its screenwriter’s personal story, this moving coming-of-age story was Kenya’s Oscar submission for Best International Feature Film.
