Sent to New Zealand to marry a man she’s never met, a mute woman (an Oscar-winning Holly Hunter) makes an unusual arrangement with an eccentric frontiersman to recover her cherished piano. Jane Campion became the first woman to win the Palme d’Or with this haunting melodrama.
