Crossing the Baiului Mountains - Autumn Landscapes & Bucegi Panorama

Join us for a stunning autumn day hike through the Baiului Mountains with breathtaking panoramic views of Bucegi, Grohotis, and Ciucas peaks!
Estimated Effort:
22-25km hike with 1,000m elevation gain (approximately 9 hours including breaks). Note that the ascent is in the first part of the day, while in the second part we'll mostly be descending (with some small ascents).
Schedule:
- 6:40 AM - Departure by train from Bucharest Nord Station
- 8:22 AM - Arrival in Azuga
- Morning - Begin ascent into the Baiului Mountains
- Afternoon - Descent to either Sinaia or Posada (depending on group pace)
- 8:00-9:00 PM - Arrive in Bucharest by train
Weather Forecast: Excellent conditions expected - sunny throughout the day with spectacular mountain views!
What to Bring: Detailed equipment list will be sent to registered attendees. In brief:
- Trail running shoes or hiking boots (no technical gear required)
- Autumn/winter clothing layers
- Water and snacks
- This is a non-technical route suitable for regular hikers
Meeting Point: Bucharest Nord Train Station - exact meeting location will be shared with registered participants
Return: We'll catch a train from either Sinaia or Posada back to Bucharest, arriving by 8-9 PM at the latest.
