Intro
Vârful Ciucaș is the highest peak in the Ciucaș Mountains with an altitude of 1954m. You can experience a beautiful view over Țara Bârsei, Brașov and the mountain resort Cheia.
Muntele Roșu (1765m) (Red Mountain) is one of the peaks in Ciucaș Mountains that takes its name from the rhododendrons in bloom covering it in the month of June.

This track is only accessible by car
The trip from Bucharest to Cabana Muntele Roșu is around 2:30-3h depending on the traffic. We will arrange the car seats and pickup details on the dedicated WhatsApp group.

Costs
The hike guiding is free. Since we go with our personal cars there are transportation costs that will be split equally between the participants.

Packing

• Hiking backpack 20-40L
• Hiking boots or shoes
• Headlamp (lanternă frontală) with spare batteries
• Rain or shell jacket
• Warm layers (avoid cotton): (1) quick dry t-shirt/thermal base layer (merinos or synthetic), (2) polar hoodie, (3) down/synthetic jacket
• Water/tea - 2L (can also buy more water at Cabana Ciucas)
• Hiking poles/sticks (optional)
• Fruit juice (optional) as energy drink
• Electrolytes, magnesium (optional)
• Energy gels (optional)
• Snacks - fruit, energy bars, dry fruit
• Lunch (dinner optional)
• Cash for buying food/drinks at Cabana's (card payments accepted at Cabana Ciucas)
• Beanie / buff / gloves
• Power bank (optional)
