Hiking (easy): Azuga - Vf Clăbucetul Taurului – Cabana Gârbova – Predeal

Please note that the meeting time is for North Rail Station to be in time for the 6:35am train to Azuga (IR 11531 - Astra Trans Carpatic) arriving at 8:16. We start the hike at 8:20am unless this train is late, in which case we'll wait for it.

Starting point is at Azuga train station at 8:20am
We will have lunch mid-way at Cabana Garbova, they have good variety of Romanian traditional food and drinks. Bring some cash in case they don't accept cards.
After the hike we can find a place in Predeal near the train station to have a drink before heading home.

Predeal (return)
There are plenty of trains to return from Predeal to Bucuresti Nord. Please do not buy a return ticket yet, as it would not be valid for another train in case we miss it.

By car
Please plan to arrive in time by 8:10am as we start the hike at exactly 8:20am. There is a free parking lot in front of the station.

Packing

• Hiking backpack 20-40L
• Hiking boots or shoes
• Headlamp (lanternă frontală) in case we arrive after dark
• Rain or shell jacket
• Warm layers (avoid cotton): (1) quick dry t-shirt/thermal base layer (merinos or synthetic), (2) polar hoodie, (3) down/synthetic jacket
• Water - 1-1.5L (can buy extra at Cabana Garbova)
• Hiking poles/sticks (optional)
• Fruit juice (optional) as energy drink
• Electrolytes, magnesium (optional)
• Energy gels (optional)
• Snacks - fruit, energy bars, dry fruit, nuts
• Lunch (optional, can buy at Cabana Garbova)
• Cash for buying food/drinks at Cabana's
• Power bank (optional)
• Hand sanitiser / tissues / wet tissues (optional)
• Sun protection - hat / baseball cap, sun glasses, sunscreen, lips balm
