Whether you’re an expat, local, or visitor, join us for a relaxed cultural walk through quiet streets to explore two hidden museum gems , from antique maps to Romanian and European masterpieces (yes, even a Picasso 👀), perfect for curious minds and art, history, or geography lovers.
⭐ What We’ll Do
We’ll leave for the first museum promptly at 12:00, so it’s best to arrive a few minutes early to meet everyone and settle in. I’ll be there from 11:40 to greet any early arrivals.
From Casa Oromolu, we’ll take a short 10-minute walk to our first stop:
🗺️ Muzeul Hărților (Map Museum)
A truly unique museum , one of the very few map museums in Europe.
✨ Fun facts:
- Housed in a beautiful early 20th-century villa
- The collection is spread across three levels (ground floor, first floor and second floor)
- Features antique maps dating back centuries
- Discover how people imagined the world before satellites and Google Maps
- Descriptions available in Romanian and English
⏳ Visit time: ~40 minutes

Afterwards, we’ll enjoy a pleasant 10-minute walk through a quiet residential area to our second stop:
🎨 Muzeul de Artă Zambaccian (Art Museum)
Another elegant historic house, home to an impressive private art collection.
✨ Fun facts:
- The artworks are displayed across three levels (basement, ground floor and first floor)
- Includes works by famous Romanian painters like Nicolae Grigorescu and Ștefan Luchian
- Features French artists
- And yes… a small Picasso is part of the collection 👀
- All artworks have descriptions in Romanian and English

💰 Total museum cost: 36 lei
🎟️ Tickets will be purchased individually at the entrance of each museum (cash or card accepted).
After the visit, we’ll head toward Aviatorilor metro station. From there, you can head home, or join us for lunch nearby and continue socializing.
Total duration: About 2 hours (plus optional lunch time).
