Most tech startup founders say that getting covered by tech media is not the sweetest part of the "job". It's definitely an art, which has a bit of a science behind. Knowing the science like a pro lets lots of room for the artist in you.

And the big day has arrived! With the support of How to Web (http://2012.howtoweb.co/), we're organizing a one of a kind gathering. A very hands on, 4 hours workshop, packed with information but most of all doing, led by Alejandro Barrera.

Alex Barrera is currently CEO and Founder of Press42.com (http://press42.com/), a site that wants to bring startups to the right bloggers. He's the editor for Spain, Portugal and Latam for The Kernel (http://www.kernelmag.com/), founder at Inkzee.com (http://inkzee.com/), co-founder and curator of Tetuan Valley, startup mentor at HackFWD, Gamma Rebels, Startupbootcamp Europe, Springboard or Huge Thing, partner at Okuri Ventures, Sandbox network Madrid Ambassador and Startup Digest Madrid curator.

Alex likes to call this workshop an "workshop on storytelling, in which we aid them when dealing with tech bloggers, media and we work with them on the crafting of their startup story.

The use of stories has been proven to be way more effective (http://blog.press42.com/index.php/2012/03/08/before-and-after-of-a-startup-story/) than press releases or any boring presentation or pitch startups regularly perform. The problem is, even though most startups know that they should write or show a story, very few of them actually know how to write one. What are the parts of a story? What elements does it have? How can you create galvanizing plots?

Well, that and more is what the workshop is about."

After hitting San Francisco (http://blog.press42.com/index.php/2012/04/12/the-startup-digest-effect/), London (http://blog.press42.com/index.php/2012/03/06/making-your-startups-story-better/) and Madrid, we're brining this workshop to Bucharest as part of Bucharest Tech Feast (http://techfeast.co/) in order to "train some bad ass startups in this art" (the words of Alex himself ;).

Here's what prior participants say:

“Hella Rad Workshop for storytellers! Highly recommended!”

“Great crash course in getting your brand story out there in a manner that will make people sit up and notice you.”

“Workshop had immediate impact – my press release was much better because of the workshop.”

“Alex’s workshop will help liberate you from conventional (boring) PR approaches! Practical + Useful. Great for techies.”

“Invaluable insight into the life of the blogger/journalist – and how to help them help us! Engaging and perfectly pitched.”

“Awesome workshop – highly actionable. We realised what PR fails we made so far and will surely get better coverage for our next release.”
